Une clairière

This clearing (Clairière) is probably the album that most closely connects Jérôme Minière to his origins and his two debut albums released on the Lithium label in the 1990s. The 9-minute-25-second tour de force, La beauté, which opens side B, resonates like a true manifesto and surely gives us a key to understanding Jérôme Minière's entire body of work. Through this constant concern for balance and accuracy, an intimate and political view of the world is revealed, documenting more than it comments. It is about the place of an author at the heart of an era but also completely apart from it: music and writing as a playground and a space for resistance. It is surely his own words that best highlight what he is questioning: “Today, beauty hasn't changed, it still takes eternity” (La beauté).
